P&C Engineer

Opportunity
Mho-Tech is actively seeking a diligent and self-motivated Protection and Control Engineer. The role is based in Calgary, Alberta; however, remote work arrangements from other Canadian cities may be considered for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Develop P&C relay settings and coordination studies ranging from 4kV to 500kV, including the preparation of coordination study reports and relay configuration files for various clients including electrical utilities, renewable energy providers, and industrial firms.

Conduct protection simulation and coordination studies using software such as Aspen Oneliner, CAPE, ETAP, and CYME.

Develop and review substation Protection and Control Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), logic diagrams, schematics, and wiring drawings.

Liaise and coordinate effectively with clients and other project team members, including electrical, substation, SCADA engineers, and commissioning personnel.
Skills / Qualifications

Relevant experience in P&C settings, electrical design, SCADA, and Commissioning is highly regarded.

Proficiency with modeling and simulation software such as Aspen Oneliner, CAPE, ETAP, or CYME is expected.

A solid understanding of fundamental power system protection theories including overcurrent, distance, differential, and symmetrical component analysis.

Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.

Eagerness to embrace technologies and engage with technical literature, including research papers and relay instruction manuals.

A Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.

Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in Alberta or another Canadian province.

A clean background check is mandatory for the selected candidate.
